Aspen Woods is a newer community on Calgary's west side, near the western edge of the city. It's a low-density, mostly residential area built around larger lots and detached homes, with parks and pathways woven through, and the Aspen Landing Shopping Centre — retail, restaurants, and a Sunterra Market grocery — serving as its main everyday hub.
Getting around
Aspen Woods is car-dependent (Walk Score and Transit Score both in the low 20s as of 2025 research). There's no C-Train station in the community; the 69th Street West LRT is roughly a 12-minute drive, and the Trans-Canada / Highway 1 is about 5–8 minutes away, making trips west out of the city quick. Driving across to the deep south (Legacy) runs about 30–35 minutes via Stoney Trail.
For families
The community has parks and a pathway network throughout, with Aspen Landing's shops, services, and restaurants close by for day-to-day needs. Housing is mostly newer detached homes on larger lots; rental stock is limited, so most homes here are owner-occupied or investor-held.
