Auburn Bay is a southeast Calgary community developed largely through the 2000s and 2010s, organized around a residents' lake that anchors community life — swimming and a beach in summer, skating in winter. It sits close to the Seton urban district and the South Health Campus, and is one of the nearer communities to Legacy and the deep-south neighbourhoods.
Getting around
Auburn Bay is car-dependent (Walk Score in the 30–40 range as of 2025 research). There's no C-Train station; the community is served by bus. The Auburn Station commercial area covers nearby errands, with the larger Seton district close by for shopping, restaurants, and a YMCA. By car, it's roughly 8–12 minutes to Legacy and the deep-south communities, and about a half-hour to the Trans-Canada / Stoney Trail for trips west.
For families
The lake is the community's central amenity, with member access to the beach, swimming, and winter skating, plus parks throughout the neighbourhood. Seton's retail, restaurants, and the South Health Campus hospital are a short drive away, and the surrounding deep-south commercial areas continue to add services as the area grows.
