Bridgeland is an established inner-city community northeast of downtown Calgary, north of the Bow River. It has a long history and a commercial strip along 1st Avenue NE with restaurants, cafes, and shops, mixed in among heritage homes, low-rise apartments, and newer infill.
Getting around
Bridgeland is very walkable — most day-to-day errands along 1st Avenue NE are an easy walk (Walk Score in the low-to-mid 80s as of 2025 research). The Bridgeland/Memorial LRT station (Blue Line) is within walking distance, and it's roughly a 15–18 minute drive to the Trans-Canada / Crowchild for trips west.
For families
The community sits next to Bow River pathways, with Murdoch Park and Tom Campbell's Hill nearby and the Calgary Zoo a short distance away. Groceries are close at hand (Bridgeland Market and a Co-op), and the 1st Avenue NE strip puts cafes, restaurants, and shops within walking distance of home.
