Legacy is a newer community in the deep southeast of Calgary, developed through the 2010s and still building out. Housing is a mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and some apartments, with mostly recent construction and a commercial area that has been expanding alongside the community.
Getting around
Legacy is car-dependent — there's no C-Train station and bus service is limited (Walk Score in the low 20s to 30, Transit Score in the mid teens to 20s as of 2025 research). It sits far from the LRT network, and it's roughly a 30–35 minute drive to the Trans-Canada via Stoney Trail for trips west.
For families
The community has Legacy Park and a growing Legacy commercial area, with the amenities of neighbouring Walden and the wider south side close by. South Health Campus is about a 10-minute drive. As a newer community, Legacy is still adding amenities and schools, so trees and services are less established than in older parts of the city.
